My family’s portraits from 2012

We have a session for our family (almost) every year for our Christmas/New Years card.  Usually a friend will take the pictures for us, but this year I wanted to try to do it ourselves.  On a Saturday in September I was asked to do some headshots of the hair stylists at my hair salon.  So when we finished up, I asked if they would curl my hair for me since I knew we’d be doing our family’s pictures that afternoon as soon as I got home. That worked out perfectly huh?  🙂  When I got home, we set up the studio, got everyone dressed, and put the camera on a tripod.  Want to know the secret to our successful family pics?  Candy corn!  I bribed the kids with candy corn in between each shot. 🙂  Yep, I’m not above bribery when it comes to pictures!  (Take note parents…promise of a reward for good smiles and good behavior can go a long way for a photo shoot).  All in all they turned out pretty good and I was able to send out Christmas cards this year. Yay!
